7. Cookies and live network monitoring
We monitor current storefront network connections using public IP addresses, the public page path and a last-seen time. This short-lived operational counter does not use cookies, browser storage or fingerprinting and runs independently of optional analytics and advertising preferences. Only authorised administrators can see the IP list. It counts network addresses, not identifiable people; shared networks and VPNs can affect the count.
When an administrator views the live dashboard, public IP addresses may be sent to IPWHOIS (ipwhois.io) over HTTPS to obtain an approximate city, region and country. This is not an exact address or GPS location. Names, checkout details and contact information are not sent for this lookup. Connections disappear from the live list after six seconds without a heartbeat; their records are pruned periodically while the service is running. Location lookups are cached for up to 15 minutes and pruned periodically. No browsing history is created by this counter. IPWHOIS processes the lookup under its own privacy policy. Optional shopping analytics, Google Ads and Meta Pixel still require their corresponding consent.
Essential participation storage is used to remember whether this browser has participated in the WOODWORX Discovery Wheel and to recover its saved result or voucher. This storage is necessary for eligibility and voucher operation; it is separate from optional analytics and advertising. Clearing cookies or changing browser/device may change eligibility, and the cookie cannot identify a unique person.
Optional first-party promotion analytics are collected only after analytics consent and are aggregated event counts. No voucher code, phone number or free-text message is sent as an analytics event. Advertising preference is stored separately. If you allow advertising cookies, we load the Google Ads tag and Meta Pixel to measure advertising visits and support advertising personalisation. Google and Meta may receive device, browser and page-visit information and use advertising cookies. We do not send your checkout name, phone number, email, notes or voucher code as event fields or enable automatic advanced matching. You can withdraw advertising consent in Privacy settings; future advertising measurement will then be disabled. Rejecting optional cookies does not prevent participation or invalidate an existing voucher.
Cookie preferences can be changed using the persistent Privacy settings control on the storefront. The participation cookie lasts up to 400 days and the preferences cookie up to 180 days, subject to browser restrictions or your deletion. Invitation dismissal is remembered in local storage until cleared. Existing cart and wishlist storage remain separate. No third-party analytics scripts are used for this promotion.
8. Promotion information
The Discovery Wheel outcome is selected and stored by our server. Participation is limited using browser cookies only, once per campaign per browser; this is not a guarantee of one entry per person. Every new spin wins at least 5%, with weighted higher discounts. Claim a new award by submitting your name and phone number and agreeing to the promotion terms. It becomes valid for exactly 24 hours from the first successful claim, then expires automatically. Repeated claims, refreshes and WhatsApp contact do not extend its deadline. Previously issued vouchers retain their saved deadlines. Discounts reduce the eligible items total, including promotional prices; company-controlled item exclusions are shown at checkout, and delivery is excluded. A voucher is used once when the discounted request is successfully saved to our dashboard. Failed saves do not use the voucher. WhatsApp opens a message for you to review and send yourself; staff still confirm availability, delivery and payment.
Operational participation and voucher records are kept separately from optional analytics for campaign eligibility, fraud prevention, voucher validation and redemption. They contain a hashed random browser identifier, saved outcome, award terms, expiry and redemption information. When you claim, we also save your submitted name, phone number, claim time and acceptance of the promotion terms in our private admin dashboard to administer the voucher and your purchase. Optional marketing consent is not required to claim. These records remain for the active campaign and any voucher-related accounting or dispute needs; cookie rejection or voucher expiry does not delete participation records or create another spin. Optional analytics consist of daily aggregate counts, not identifiable browsing histories. Withdrawing consent stops future optional tracking; previously aggregated counts cannot be linked back to you.
With analytics consent, we also measure shopping interactions such as adding products to the cart, wishlist changes, checkout starts and saved requests, and discount-wheel interactions. Custom events contain catalogue identifiers and aggregate counts, not customer contact details, messages or voucher codes. Rejecting analytics disables these custom events.
With analytics consent, a temporary random browser identifier also helps our private dashboard estimate who is connected now. Visible pages report activity every two seconds, and the dashboard updates every second. Hiding or closing a page requests removal of that tab immediately; connections without a recent heartbeat stop counting after six seconds. Tabs sharing an identifier count as one browser while any remain active. This is an estimate, not an exact count of identifiable people. We store only hashed browser and connection identifiers, a recognised page path and last activity time—not names, contact details, IP addresses, search queries or messages. Old presence records are removed during activity or dashboard refreshes. The browser identifier expires after 30 minutes of inactivity; withdrawing analytics consent stops reporting and requests removal of its live presence.
Claiming saves your voucher on this website and returns you to shopping; it does not send a WhatsApp message. At checkout, choosing WhatsApp shares your saved request details with that external service in a prepared message. WhatsApp has its own privacy terms. We receive your WhatsApp message only if you press Send, although your claim and saved checkout details are already held in our private dashboard. Participation does not subscribe you to marketing. Contact us to ask about your information or deletion; we may retain records needed to enforce a used voucher or meet legal obligations.
